Hypnotherapy
Hypnotherapy is the use of hypnosis in a therapeutic framework in order to help clients resolve their particular issues.
Hypnosis occurs when people experience a trance state. Trance states are naturally occurring and happen every day. If your mind ever drifts off when someone is talking to you, if you get lost in a good book and block everything out, or if you drive somewhere familiar and don’t remember how you got there, you were in a trance. Hypnosis is merely the conscious effort to enter into a trance. The most common concern regarding hypnosis is the fear of losing control. This cannot happen. People can only enter into hypnotic trances voluntarily; the hypnotherapist is simply a guide or a help into these states. The client retains control at all times.
Cognitive hypnotherapy is an approach that is derived from the most recent research on how the mind works. Under hypnosis, the client is guided to finding the underlying cause of their problem, and then assisted in restructuring their unconscious so that the problem disappears. This can all be accomplished with a relatively light trance. Neuro-linguistic programming, combined with hypnotherapy or used on its own, can assist the client to view the world differently, and therefore think about and respond to it differently.

Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP)
NLP deals with understanding how people can experience exactly the same event, yet interpret it differently, react to it differently, and remember it differently. Everyone uses their own strategies to make sense of the world around them. If the strategies used to interpret the world are not working in the person’s favour, then NLP allows us to alter some or all of the strategy in order to produce a more positive outcome.
Based on the way the client views the world, and the specific processes they use when dealing with their particular problem, I use the principles of NLP to tailor all suggestions used during trance to the specific need of the client. Using this method, the unconscious has the ability to change much faster, and in a much more permanent way.
